ACS Conference this year was new, improved, and even better than before! Things have been so busy with all of the great follow-up following Conference that I am behind on blogging and sharing the experience. Our Implementation and Marketing Departments were hard at work this entire past year – and it showed. The changes were from small to big. One of the things I heard lots of feedback were from the brightly colored tshirts we were every day. (We especially enjoyed the day that Steve Cumbia, avid USC fan, was forced to wear Clemson orange. I believe that shirt has now been donated…) Lots of clients wanted ones to purchase to take home! We’re working on that for next year! Also, we had so many great presentations on the “Let’s Go” stage that I lost my voice. We were able to present in 5-15 minute scheduled increments different items in the products. We heard lots of good feedback on all of the different sesssions, but the upcoming partial payments capability for events in Access ACS and Remote Deposit Capture were definitely hot topics. I have missed the stage, the sound effects, and the microphone since we left! Hopefully we’ll bring back the motorcycle theme next year.
I also personally enjoyed the classes not just taught by ACS staff but by clients. This year we had Implementation Tracks where clients taught sessions about a specific subject. This wasn’t just “click this button in the product”, but how they REALLY use the product to achieve their ministry goals on different subjects. The classes typically had 3 teachers and spread over 2 class times. I loved hearing how they were really achieving their goals as well as the background story behind them. How big is the church? What frequency and style meetings do they have to prepare for the task at hand? I was able to attend the ones on Giving as well as Communication. So, I heard things from the security around the financial information, the makeup of the stewardship committee, and to the recent challenges and successes. There were some great discussions about using social media for communication now in addition to the traditional methods as well.
I also enjoy the chance at Conference to see some of our great partners face to face. Constant Contact, MobileCause, and SecureSearch were all there in attendance. They had booths in the exhibit hall – that stayed consistently busy – so that they could visit with clients about the services they offered. They also all taught classes as well to share more information about their focused area. It is exciting what we are able to offer by working together with these companies! One of the other new things at this year’s Conference was the recording of success stories from clients by video. Check out what some of the attendees at the Conference had to say about their experience with the integrated Background Check solution we offer with Secure Search.
Work is already underway for next year. Mark your calendar for May 31st – June 3rd. We hope to see you in Cincinnatti!
