ACS 2007 Edition Leads Way With Improved Interface, Ease of Use and Ministry Functionality

FLORENCE, SC, October 2007—ACS Technologies®, the 30-year leader in faith-based software and services, is now releasing the latest version of the nation’s most popular church management solution, ACS™. For the first time in the history of the program, clients can download the new version from the acstechnologies.com Web site in lieu of receiving the upgrade on CD.

This new version, ACS 2007 Edition, features a wealth of enhancements related to interface and functionality, the most notable being the new ACS Workbench menu. This new design presents a refreshing change to the program, organizing similar ministry processes into a central location to help users navigate and perform tasks more easily and efficiently.

Steve Cumbia, executive director of research and development at ACS Technologies, said, “Our goal was to design a clear, user-friendly and visually appealing product even more focused on ministry needs. We’re very pleased with the results because we’re already hearing positive feedback from many users.”

Among the new users is Wayne Brown, business administrator of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, Tenn. He said, “I found the interface much more intuitive than the earlier version, and I have been pleasantly surprised at how easily even the veteran users picked up on the new style without any training! Out of 15 to 20 users, I have only had to help two use the new menu.”

In addition to the new easier-to-use ministry interface, ACS 2007 Edition includes expanded data security to ensure that files are properly backed up in case of emergency. The ACS development team combined the two existing ACS backup programs, ACS Backup and ACS Automatic Backup, to create one complete utility from which users can run a full system backup in one step or schedule backups to run at a later time.

Time-saving features are also included so that users can enter more extensive information when they add new member records. Additional printing and reporting features in the ACS People™ and ACS Checkpoint™ modules increase the program’s flexibility and eliminate additional paperwork.

The widely-used ACS Financial Suite™ expands tax reporting capability with additional fields on federal W-2 forms so that users can include allocated tips and non-qualified plans for employees. The ACS General Ledger™ module now allows posting to the 13th month so that auditors can easily incorporate any necessary changes into balance sheet accounts.

ACS 2007 Edition is also compatible with the latest Microsoft® operating system, Windows Vista®, allowing for expanded usability among ACS Technologies clients.

The company expects more than 10,000 of these clients who are enrolled in the popular Preferred Client Program to download this update over a period of about 10 weeks.

Brown added, “I love the fact that ACS Technologies is so connected to their users. During the convention, on the phone with support, working with the Beta team, everyone really listens to the clients and seems to value their input. What better way could a company create a product that meets the ministry needs of its clients than to know those clients and their needs really well!”
