ACS Technologies Announces New Check In / Check Out Security Software Called ACS Checkpoint
New Addition to ACS People Suite Ensures Heightened Security for Families

FLORENCE, SC, December 6, 2004 — ACS Technologies (www.acstechnologies.com), the leading information management solution provider for churches, schools and faith-based organizations, announces the release of ACS Checkpoint™, its new check in/check out application, which is a valuable addition to its popular ACS People Suite software package. ACS Checkpoint offers users added security and accuracy for managing group classes and/or activities. The new product, designed for both self and staffed checking in and out, promises to be particularly effective when users need to carefully monitor the activity of children, such as parents dropping off and picking up their kids.

For users that need to keep precise records of who is where and when, ACS Checkpoint boasts several convenient and easy-to-use functions. When an individual is checking in, be it at a manned or unmanned workstation, there are several simple methods for finding his/her information: Users can scan a barcode, search by the last four digits of his/her phone number, or enter his/her last and/or first name. Once the person (child, parent, or visitor) is checked in, he/she can print a security badge, which resembles a nametag. If a user is checking in a visitor, it's easy to quickly add that new name to the database and mark the individual as a visitor. Users can print reports to show specifics on who is checked in or out by class and to review details on the class setup. Also, users have the option to enter notes that may be printed on a child's security badge.

There are numerous security badge designs to choose from and badges may accommodate up to four lines of text. For example, if an organization has different activities going on that require different information on the security badge, they can design different badges and assign them to the different sessions. Users should note that these security badges are optional.

“ACS Checkpoint is great for keeping tabs on children, making sure that they're accounted for when they arrive and when they leave,” says Rebekah Gibbs, project manager for ACS Checkpoint. “And, with the ability to enter notes, it helps keep better track of any individual's needs or concerns. It's an advancement that adds to the safety of our clients and their families.”

ACS Checkpoint is a smart option for keeping track of individuals coming or going. For example, parents can check their children in for Sunday school at an unmanned computer terminal. It can be password protected, meaning that without a password, the module can't be closed and other areas of the product can't be accessed. Also, the ACS Checkpoint window can be formatted to clear automatically after each use, meaning no one can access anyone else's information.

“These days, there's no such thing as too many safety measures,” Gibbs adds. “After receiving a lot of client feedback on the desire to keep better track of younger members' comings and goings, we designed this new product to help families be more confident about having everyone accounted for.”

Clients who also use ACS Attendance will have the option to further monitor individual activity because of a shared connection to the ACS People Suite. Attendance and Checkpoint modules can be set up to record respective attendance details when an individual is checked in and/or out.
