ACS TECHNOLOGIES CONTINUES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES TO ENHANCE EMPLOYEES, COMMUNITY

Connie Lee, Lesa Hudson and Don Savage Achieve Advanced Certifications

FLORENCE, SC, June 13, 2005—In an effort to develop its employees, ACS Technologies continues to provide ongoing training and professional development to its staff members. Most recently, the company sent Connie Lee, human resources manager, to the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) to obtain her Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification. In March 2005, Lesa Hudson, assistant to the president and CEO, became Certified Development Dimensions International (DDI) Facilitator. Lastly, Don Savage, ACS professional services supervisor, is currently working on his sixth Microsoft Certification Test leaving one to complete the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). The company not only works to support its employees, but tries to instill in its staff a desire to give back to the community.

HR Manager, Connie Lee comments, “ACS Technologies strives for excellence in every way. The company stands behind its employees by supporting continuing education. This improves our organization and the community by increasing our skills through professional certification programs.”

In addition to fostering the professional development of its employees, ACS Technologies also promotes giving back to the community in a variety of ways. Each year, the company tries to donate to one major cause. Last year, employees worked together to donate funds to the American Heart Association.

ACS Technologies has also arranged several ongoing programs in which employees can take part. Donation boxes for the Manna House (provides food and basic needs for those in need), and the Pee Dee Coalition (an organization dedicated to reducing family violence) are in the main break room where employees can donate food items throughout the month. Information on these charities is available online through the company's intranet in order to make access to information easy for employees to obtain.

Because ACS Technologies has fostered a company of employees who care about the community, it is natural that they care about each other as well. In several instances, employees have rallied around one another to provide care in times of need.

“Last year, one of our employees was diagnosed with terminal cancer,” recalls Lee. “Her dying wish was to take her son to Disneyworld, but she just couldn't afford it. Our staff rallied around her and raised enough money to send her on the trip before she passed on. It was a true testament to the caring nature of our staff.”

In another instance of true camaraderie, when an employee's house burned down, employees helped to raise enough money to replace some of his belongings.

“These are just some of the ways that ACS Technologies has worked together for the good of our community,” concluded Lee.
