When Lexington Baptist Church (LBC) in Lexington, SC, began construction on their new preschool and children's ministry building, they knew it was the optimal time to implement a new child security system as well. With over 2,400 members in weekly attendance across several campus buildings, the church leaders were keenly aware of how vital a strong internal management system was to the continued success of LBC's Children's ministry. Sandi Self, the children's education director, decided to call on their long-time software solutions partner, ACS Technologies®, to help them choose the right path.

Implementation Process
After contacting their ACS Implementation Specialist, Russ Fortier, anonsite assessment was scheduled for October 2007. During the assessment, Russ' main objective was to provide an in-depth assessment of how ACS Technologies could support the LBC children's ministry's security goals and processes. His other objectives included:

• Assessing anticipated traffic patterns in the new children's facility
• Recommending the placement of both manned and unmanned check-in kiosks
• Providing a recommendation on the proper equipment that LBC would need to purchase

Results
Sandi shares, "Our experience with the Checkpoint system has been very positive. Our parents and volunteers are excited about the level of security and safety the check-in system provides. One father said "This is great!" and when I asked him what was so great, he told me a long list of things, including the random numbers and the security it gives, the accurate information the children's tags are providing, and how quickly everyone can check in.

We are a large church with 6 computer stations and sometimes lines can back up, but people have been very patient. The length of time it takes for each family is getting quicker. My administrative assistant, Kimberlee Duncan, is also excited about the time the new system saves in tracking attendance. It used to take her three to fours hours each Monday, and now thanks to ACS Checkpoint, it takes less than an hour to complete. With each new system update, the process will continue to get quicker, simpler, and better.
