 Hermon Baptist Church (HBC), nestled in Waxhaw, NC, is home to a growing congregation of approximately 300 members. With a strong focus on ministry and community outreach, the church was getting busier every day. They were using an affordable but limited church management software program for keeping their church records.
Freeda Helms joined their staff as administrative assistant in early 2006. Having worked in church offices for many years using ACS, she suggested the church look into more diverse and flexible software solutions to better meet their growing ministry goals. She knew ACS was that solution.

 "I have worked in church offices since the mid-80's and always used ACS church management solutions. When I took the position with HBC, I was surprised to learn that they weren't ACS users but used another software provider with limited capabilities. I felt I had to learn my new ministry position before suggesting improvements, so I used the existing software for my first two years while investigating new solutions.

"I had not used ACS for two years, so I was not familiar with SaaS (software as a service) before learning of ACS OnDemand. Knowing the reputation of ACS Technologies, I knew that they would support us through the transition to this new technology. And they did exactly that. It was a painless transition for us.
"We have only recently made the switch to ACS OnDemand, but I can already see improvements with our data management. And, I foresee many more as time goes on, especially with the ability to easily expand our ACS OnDemand solution as our needs change. I love ACS, but one thing that I especially like about ACS OnDemand is the fact that ACS performs daily backups for me. Sometimes, I still personally backup my data on a flash drive for extra protection, but I love knowing that ACS is doing it too. Also, our office is not networked, but it feels like we are with OnDemand. Everybody has access to ACS on the Internet. When a change is made, it is made across the board; therefore, our information is always up-to-date for all users.
"Another great OnDemand feature is having anytime, anywhere access to all our ACS data. Now, I am able to work at home when I can't get everything done at the office. I also think our Pastor will enjoy being able to access member data when he is traveling. Just the other night, I found myself needing to pull a member's postal address to send a thank you card, and all I had to do was log into ACS from my home computer. It is great! And I was able to setup the Sunday school classes from home, which was a super time saver!

"It has taken very little time for me to learn how to navigate ACS OnDemand; once I log in, the ACS software applications work the same as they did on my desktop. Our conversion process went well, considering we were converting data from a different software provider. I've used ACS since 1985 back when it was run on DOS!
