This week we want to introduce you to Lia.
She is an Associate UX Designer.
Lia Jiang was born in mainland China, and studied fine art at China Academy of Art. She has her master’s degree from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where her major was Design Management. Her ideal day off is a lazy Saturday that allows her to be a couch potato. A talent that makes Lia, Lia is that she likes to draw and bake. What’s more, she has a tiny tortoise for a pet.
Let’s check out what her typical workday looks like, why she loves working at ACST, and her driving passion for the Church.
Describe a typical day at ACST for you?
A typical day for a UX (user experience) designer at ACST is…
1. Creative, but systematic
A large part of my role is about enhancing the small bugs that occur in the existing product which includes websites and mobile apps. Since we’re redesigning some detailed functions, we have to look at existing products to see what kind of patterns the current users are already used to, and what we have in the existing design system. We should figure out what could be changed carefully. We have to adapt to that, so while it’s creative, we do have a system that we need to follow.
2. Collaborative
As a UX designer, I work closely with our product owners, developers, and UX researchers every day. We should be very clear about our goals as a team, and most importantly, understand our clients/users. So collaboration happens every day. We communicate a lot and discuss the solutions to the problems.
3. Enjoying the process of working and gaining accomplishment
Tell us what you love most about working at ACST?
I like everyone in the team respects each other and communicates well. As an individual, we pay attention to efficiency but also still have flexibility.
What is your driving passion for the Church?
