Clemson Presbyterian Church, situated at the edge of Clemson University, has been given a unique opportunity to serve both the university community and their community at large. The church's story is a reflection of who they are today - their origins, their demographic, their ministry, and their vision for the future. Founded nearly 30 years ago by university students and community members alike, Clemson Presbyterian has always had a strong relationship with the local university students.
Since their beginnings, the church has been dedicated to fulfilling their vision: "To impact the community and the world by making disciples of countless university students and community members who are transformed by the Gospel and are serving others." But they're not merely reaching out to the college community in which God has placed them. They're developing lifelong relationships with the thousands of college students who are looking for a church home. Many students view their college years as a time to simply attend a church and then move on, but Clemson Presbyterian encourages students to become a part of their church family. They want to connect with them, engage with them, and build them up as disciples.
To do this, Clemson Presbyterian realized their staff and members needed a tool that people would actually use to truly connect their whole church all the time. They needed something to help them track attendance, connect students and visitors with groups, and especially stay connected with their congregation year-round, even when students are back home for the summer.
The challenge with our previous system is that nobody used it. It was clunky, hard to understand, and didn’t always give us the information that we needed. Realm is entirely different.
- Steve Dickey, Associate Pastor
Clemson Presbyterian turned to Realm to help them connect on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis with members and visitors whether they’re in Clemson or anywhere around the world. With constantly shifting attendance numbers because of the large percentage of college students in and out of their doors, Clemson Presbyterian can now keep up with those students wherever they are and continue to invest in their lives without compromising their focus on regular attendees living permanently in the area.
