History

Brown Missionary Baptist Church is a church with a rich history. Former slaves started the church more than 135 years ago. Located in Southaven, MS, Brown Missionary Baptist Church has the unique opportunity to impact Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas. They’re committed to exalting the Savior through worship, evangelizing the sinner through witnessing, and equipping the saints through discipleship, ministry, and fellowship.

Challenge

With more than 10,000 members (and growing), an average weekly attendance of 5,000, and 2 campuses, they needed a way to keep everyone connected and moving forward together in their mission to impact their community. The staff members had to have a way to stay informed of the church’s health and the congregation needed a way to stay connected and moving forward in their mission throughout the week.

Solution

Realm makes it easy for Brown Missionary Baptist to connect with thousands of congregants on a weekly basis through Groups and the Connect app. Each congregant can now stay connected with leaders and other members throughout the week, find new ways to get involved, and focus on ministry even when they’re outside the walls of the church. The staff at Brown Missionary Baptist no longer have to worry about visitors falling through the cracks because they now have mobile tools at their fingertips to engage and connect with every person who walks through their doors.

History

Clemson Presbyterian Church, situated at the edge of Clemson University, has been given a unique opportunity to serve both the university community and their community at large. The church’s story is a reflection of who they are today – their origins, their demographic, their ministry, and their vision for the future. Founded nearly 30 years ago by university students and community members alike, Clemson Presbyterian has always had a strong relationship with the local university students.

Challenge

Since their beginnings, the church has been dedicated to fulfilling their vision: “To impact the community and the world by making disciples of countless university students and community members who are transformed by the Gospel and are serving others.” But they’re not merely reaching out to the college community in which God has placed them. They’re developing lifelong relationships with the thousands of college students who are looking for a church home. Many students view their college years as a time to simply attend a church and then move on, but Clemson Presbyterian encourages students to become a part of their church family. They want to connect with them, engage with them, and build them up as disciples.

To do this, Clemson Presbyterian realized their staff and members needed a tool that people would actually use to truly connect their whole church all the time. They needed something to help them track attendance, connect students and visitors with groups, and especially stay connected with their congregation year-round, even when students are back home for the summer.

Solution

Clemson Presbyterian turned to Realm to help them connect on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis with members and visitors whether they’re in Clemson or anywhere around the world. With constantly shifting attendance numbers because of the large percentage of college students in and out of their doors, Clemson Presbyterian can now keep up with those students wherever they are and continue to invest in their lives without compromising their focus on regular attendees living permanently in the area.

History

Since its founding in 1959, Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Northfield, IL has been creating faithful servants of God. The church’s vision is to be a vibrant, progressive church that welcomes all who want to work in Jesus’ name. Its members are united in that vision, and they live out that calling by serving the community.

Challenge

Ascension was thriving through their community outreach program, but they were having some difficulties effectively reaching their church body and bringing people in. Ascension’s staff and congregation needed to stay connected throughout the week and have a vehicle for tracking attendance and the overall health of their ministry, all in real-time.

Solution

The people of Lutheran Church of the Ascension needed a place to not only connect their members but also a way to go outside of the church walls to do ministry whenever and wherever they were called to go. With the Realm Connect mobile app, they’re now able to both build their church family and serve their local community.

Unexpected Benefits

Ascension moved to Realm with the goal of improving connection and communication. What they weren’t expecting was the immediate benefit of having integrated eGiving. Since they began using Realm in May of 2015, they’ve seen a 35% increase in the total giving each year and they now receive more than 30% of their gifts online. This bump in annual giving allows Lutheran Church of the Ascension to increase their ministry efforts and use the extra resources to further their mission.
