Building a Movement — Jason Simon and the Vision of The Evangelical Catholic

Jason Simon, President of The Evangelical Catholic, offers a compelling personal story and witness that led him to eventually lead the apostolate. The Evangelical Catholic was formed by people who were evangelized from outside the Catholic Church, re-aligned with the Church, and recognized the need to help Catholics witness to others. Jason has a similar background, and his fervor is evident as he talks about how The Evangelical Catholic is helping parishes “become fully alive in their apostolic mission.”

Jason says, “Catholics believe we should evangelize, but don’t know how to bring Jesus into conversations. Sherry Weddell and Matthew Kelly both refer to a small core group of 5% or 7% of parishioners who are truly engaged. Research from DeSales Institute indicates that only 14% of that small group feel prepared to evangelize. The Evangelical Catholic works with those groups in the parish to prepare them to grow in competence to unleash the power of their baptism.”

Check out the engaging conversation with Jason Simon, from the power of his personal story, to what The Evangelical parish offers to help parishes activate in these apostolic times!
