25 Fundraising Ideas for Churches: What Now?

dove flying in front of cross

We’ve just spent the last few months outlining 25 fundraising ideas to implement in your church. This series has unpacked a range of concepts that can help build and grow your development program. Whether you’ve been along for this entire ride or if you’re just joining now, what do you do next?

Here are steps to take if you liked some of these ideas but feel stuck:

  1. Bring together a trusted group of advisors. It could be your board, a small group of your key volunteers or staff, or a new group you convene to give you feedback specifically on this issue.
  2. Provide them with the blog and video content before meeting together. Ask them to spend an hour or so culling through the series. (We tried to keep these at 2-3 minutes each, so it will be manageable for them to go through the majority of the posts.)
  3. Ask them to make a list of:
    1. The top 3 ideas they’d like the church to consider this next year
    2. The top 1-2 ideas they think you’d do really well now or later, and the 1-2 places where you’re missing the mark
    3. The 1-2 ideas they think are not a fit for your congregation right now
    4. The biggest takeaway they got from the series
  4. Convene your group and have some of the best conversations about donor relationships, fundraising opportunities, and strategies you’ve had!

We hope this list of ideas will give you a chance to really chew through your church’s unique mission and how to best grow your donors’ excitement and investment.

Our partnership with ACST enables us to come alongside churches looking for guidance on their fundraising goals. If you’d like counsel about any aspect of donor relations or your church’s stewardship plans, contact us today, and we’ll be happy to talk with you.
