Aaron Varner has been on staff at Central Community Church for 10 years, serving as the Missions Pastor and, currently, the Administrative Pastor. Located in Wichita, Kansas, the church is surrounded by flourishing school districts, which have significantly impacted its consistent growth throughout the years.
While the church itself is over 100 years old, Central has been intentional in its efforts to grow its congregation over the last decade, growing its single campus from 900 in attendance to almost 2,000. Not only has leadership created and fostered an environment of growth, but they deeply invested in their Sunday morning worship experience about 5 years ago, drawing in new families from the community.
During COVID, they took their efforts a step further, realizing the urgent need for life groups to foster connection during a time when it was so desperately needed among the community. But their growth didn’t stop there. To add to their ministry impact, they renovated their “kids space” and, with the help of their Family Pastor and tools such as Growth Method, have created a consistent flow of children through their church–from birth to graduation.
As the Administrative Pastor, Aaron does a little of everything in the church. However, he heavily uses MinistryPlatform along with the ACS Financial Suite to streamline all operations, from database management to financial organization.
While they evaluated many other platforms for the church to use, ultimately, they landed on MinistryPlatform and the ACS Financial Suite because of the integration between the two.
“We chose MinistryPlatform because it easily integrated with our ACS Financial Suite, which we were already using. We just got tired of having two different systems and the extra steps created. And if we didn’t have good communication amongst the staff, then things were missed, mailings weren’t going to the right places…among other things. Having an integrated system AND a system where people can pull their own giving statements had a huge impact on our buying decision.”

From using check-in for children’s church each week to the batch management process for online giving, Central Community Church creates a seamless experience by having all of its data under one roof.

While Aaron acknowledged that changing databases can be quite overwhelming, he says they feel supported by ACS Technologies. He’s excited about the development of MinistryPlatform and believes it can support their growing ministry.

Jenna joined the ACST team in February 2020 as a Ministry Consultant for small to mid-size churches with a focus on empowering these ministries with the tools they need to accomplish their goals. She believes regardless of the size of the ministry, each church can utilize technology to fulfill the calling God has given them. Prior to joining ACST, she spent several years as a Sales Consultant across multiple industries, all focusing on relationship building, which she feels has allowed her to provide trusted advice to those in need. Jenna is passionate about helping others which fuels her eagerness to serve.
