Religious & Spiritual Easter Quotes For Church

Spiritual quotes

One thing is for sure, seeing the words John 3:16 written on a sign at a football game held up for many to see, makes my heart happy. It’s a life filled scripture verse that many recognize and some know by heart. Words have meaning and when organized in proper grammatical structures, that meaning is transmitted to provide communication. When words no longer hold to their meaning, then communication is hampered and misunderstandings arise. This Easter, many will hear the Word of God through music and sermons and hopefully ponder the meaning long after they leave your campus. We’ve compiled a list of religious and spiritual Easter quotes for church graphics, hand outs, sermon points, etc. to complement hiding the Word in our hearts to not sin against God (Psalm 119:11).

Easter quotes about Jesus begin with how much God loves us:

  • “God loves each one of us as if there were only one of us.” – Saint Augustine
  • “God is love. He didn’t need us. But He wanted us. And that is the most amazing thing.” – Rick Warren
  • “There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.” – Corrie ten Boom
  • “Though our feelings come and go, God’s love for us does not.” – C.S. Lewis
  • “God loves us too much to indulge our every whim.” – Max Lucado
  • “No matter what storm you face, you need to know that God loves you. He has not abandoned you.” – Franklin Graham
  • “God proved His love on the Cross. When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, I love you.” – Billy Graham

Holy Week sheds light on these religious Easter quotes to help bring them to the forefront of our conversations and prayer meditations:

  • “Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime.” – Martin Luther
  • “Let every man and woman count himself immortal. Let him catch the revelation of Jesus in his resurrection. Let him say not merely, ‘Christ is risen,’ but ‘I shall rise’.”

– Phillip Brooks

  • “Let the resurrection joy lift us from loneliness and weakness and despair to strength and beauty and happiness.” – Floyd W. Tomkins
  • “No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown.”- William Penn
  • “The Cross is the word through which God has responded to evil in the world. Sometimes it may seem as though God does not react to evil, as if he is silent. And yet, God has spoken, he has replied, and his answer is the Cross of Christ: a word which is love, mercy, forgiveness. It also reveals a judgment, namely that God, in judging us, loves us. Remember this: God, in judging us, loves us. If I embrace his love then I am saved, if I refuse it, then I am condemned, not by him, but my own self, because God never condemns, he only loves and saves.” – Pope Francis

Christian quotes Easter stirs in our hearts to live out daily:

  • “Be assured of God’s love for you. Seek by his grace to heal the damage of sin. Seek communion with him and with those who make up his Church and those who are not yet within. His love for all of us is unconditional. His joy is infinite. His mercy overflows.” – Deacon Michael Bickerstaff
  • “To love someone means to see him as God intended him.” – Fyodor Dostoevsky
  • “You can always give without loving, but you can never love without giving.” – Amy Carmichael
  • “God teaches us to love by putting some unlively people around us. It takes no character to love people who are lovely and loving to you.” – Rick Warren
  • “Faith makes all things possible… love makes all things easy.”-  Dwight L. Moody
  • “The chains of love are stronger than the chains of fear.” – William Gurnall
  • “The word hope I take for faith; and indeed hope is nothing else but the constancy of faith.” – John Calvin
  • “Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” – Corrie ten Boom
  • “Faith is a living, daring confidence in God’s grace, so sure and certain that a man could stake his life on it a thousand times.” – Martin Luther
  • “Joy is the serious business of Heaven.” -C.S. Lewis
  • “Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe.” – Saint Augustine

I once heard a Bible study teacher share how she would write down scriptures on note cards and carry them with her everywhere she went. They were always close at hand (in her purse) so if she was stuck in traffic or waiting a little longer for her children’s practices to end, she could meditate on the Truth found in the scriptures. This spoke volumes to and convicted me about what I choose to help “fill my time” and thus my heart. I’m all for taking a few moments for myself, but I also adopted her practice with scriptures and spiritual quotes written on cards to encourage me in my faith; and I hope you might want to do the same. Peace be with you.
