Just because your congregation can’t meet in person doesn’t mean you have to cancel your Sunday service. By leveraging YouTube and Realm, you can invite your congregation to join your worship service online and determine what your congregation needs during this challenging time.

Create your video

YouTube is a free option that allows you to upload a video or record a livestream.

Once your video is uploaded or your livestream is recorded, copy the link.

Create a registration event in Realm

Create a registration event for your normal service time. Paste the Youtube link into the description with a message to your congregation.

Under the Status section, choose Visible to Everyone and select your registration period. Make sure the Share to Newsfeed box is checked so your Realm users are aware of the event.

On the next screen, add a registration type in the description, check the box for Congregants can sign up online for this registration type and click Add. Click Save & Close at the bottom of the window.

If you want to ask your congregation for items they need:

After you do the above steps, instead of clicking on Save & Close, click on Custom Questions on the left. Add your question and choose List from the Type drop-down. Enter the options and designate if the question is required, as well as the ability for registrants to use multiple options.

This is what your congregation will see when they register.

Click Save & Close at the bottom of the window.

Promote your event

When you click Save & Close, your event will show in the Event Registration list and is automatically posted to the newsfeed in Realm.

If you would like to email or post the event on social media, you can get a shareable link by going to the event in your registration list, clicking on the ellipsis on the left, choose Share, and clicking Get shareable link / embedded HTML / QR code.

When you can’t meet in person, your congregation can still worship together. Free video and streaming options allow you to record your service and Realm, as always, is the hub for your congregant communications.
