One of my all time favorite movies is Groundhog Day. You know the story with Bill Murray as the hard to get along with TV Weather Man reliving the same day over and over. I love this movie and can watch it over and over (for some reason my wife thinks it silly and refuses to watch it). As I just completed my 26th January with ACS, I sometimes have the feeling that I am having a Groundhog Day experience.
Each January we know a big increase in the calls and emails to our support department is coming. For the first two weeks of January the number of calls and emails double over our normal level. We bring in extra help, extend the operating hours, work overtime, and do anything else we can think of to provide the extra help needed in this busy time of using the software. Each year however, we always seem to fall short of our plans to hold down the wait times so you can quickly get the help that you need.
So as we wrap up January 2010, we are now making plans for January 2011 so we are better prepared for the next go-around what seems like the longest month of the year. Maybe like Bill Muarry we will someday get everything right and Januarys will start being just like every other month of the year.
