ACS Technologies holds annual fundraiser for United Way of Florence.
Employees participate in bake-off competition to raise funds.
Florence, SC: October 21, 2013 - ACS Technologies, the world’s leading provider of church management software solutions, held its annual United Way Campaign during the week of October 14-18. This year, employees gave over $18,000, which was matched dollar for dollar by the company, totaling over $36,000 in donations. United Way of Florence County uses these funds by working with a broad range of partners to improve opportunities for people in the community.
For the finale of the fundraising campaign, ACS Technologies held a bake-off competition and bake sale. Kim Ginfrida from the Morning News, Dr. David Wike, Sr. Pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Kevin Barron, Pee Dee Foodie blogger, and Wendy Byrd from United Way were invited to participate and select the winners of the bake-off. ACS Technologies employees came out to watch the judging and participate in the bake sale.
"Every year I am so impressed with the creativity of ACS Technologies and how they make their United Way campaign fun,” said Wendy Bird, Vice President of Campaigns, United Way of Florence. “It makes me so proud of the employees at ACS Technologies because they truly care and understand the importance of United Way. They always put forth the extra effort to make sure their United Way campaign is successful. Because we conduct a campaign every year, it can be easy to overlook it or push it aside. It’s companies like ACS Technologies who revive it each year with new energy, using new ideas and our themes to make it fun, that really excel in giving back to our community." Bird added.
“We are extremely proud of the generosity our employees displayed in giving back to the community this year,” said Cary Ashworth, Director, Human Resources, ACS Technologies. “It’s clear that our folks have caring and generous hearts which they have demonstrated time and time again over the years. It’s gratifying to know that our company and our folks understand that when we help those in need we are building a better community for everyone. We’re really looking forward to next year’s fundraiser,” Ashworth added.
