Behind the Build: Why Sometimes the Best Release Is a Delayed Release

Software updating on a laptop

Software releases are exciting. They bring new capabilities, improvements, and enhancements designed to help ministries work more effectively. Sometimes, one of the most important decisions we make is to wait.

As we prepared for this month’s MinistryPlatform release, we received thoughtful questions from customers about upcoming changes related to Communication Messages. At the same time, our teams identified opportunities for additional testing to ensure the experience meets the high standards our customers expect.

While delaying a release is never our first choice, releasing before customers have confidence in what’s changing isn’t the right choice either.

The extra time allows us to do two important things: validate the solution through additional testing and provide the education, documentation, and answers customers need to feel prepared for what’s coming. Both are essential to a successful release.

Behind every feature is a balancing act between innovation, reliability, and customer readiness. Our goal is not simply to deliver new functionality as quickly as possible. It’s to deliver solutions that work as intended and are supported by the information customers need to use them with confidence.

Thank you for your partnership, your questions, and the feedback that helps us build a better MinistryPlatform for everyone.
