Company starts endowment fund to honor owner and President Emeritus, Marvin Owen
March 5, 2018, Florence, S.C. – ACS Technologies®, the world’s leading provider of church management software and service solutions, honors President Emeritus Marvin Owen and celebrates his 34 years of continuing contributions to the company and countless churches he’s served, by partnering with Furman University, his alma mater, to create the Marvin Owen ‘77 Endowment Fund, donating $100,000 to the university.
“Marvin has played an instrumental part in the ACS Technologies story,” says Paige Tuttle, Chairman of the Board. “It is evident to all who know him that his passion is serving churches, so this scholarship fund with Furman, the university he loves, is our way of thanking him and celebrating his years of work for the Church. It’s a privilege to honor him this way and for years to come through the lives of future students who have the integrity and dedication to ministry like Marvin.”
“Furman University is thrilled and honored to receive this most generous gift from ACS Technologies to establish the Marvin Owen ‘77 Endowment Fund,” says Patrick Rice, Development Officer, Furman University. “The endowment of this scholarship will make a significant difference in the lives of Furman students today and in perpetuity.”
This scholarship will offer yearly financial assistance to students with outstanding character and moral integrity who are pursuing careers in nonprofit or church ministry work as set by the example of Owen.
“I am honored that ACS Technologies has created this scholarship fund at my beloved alma mater,” says Owen. “The Church is my passion, so knowing that this donation will pave the way for students to live out their dreams of working in ministry is so humbling to me.
